Civil Arbitration Or Mediation

Civil Arbitration

Oregon law requires that all civil cases involving less than $50,000, except small claims cases, go to arbitration under Oregon Revised Statutes 36.400.

The parties pay the arbitrator. The fee varies by county. Contact your trial court administrator for information about how arbitration works in your county.


Civil Mediation

In some courts, parties can  choose to go to mediation instead of arbitration.
