How come I do not see the heading "Java VM" when trying to activate Java for my web browser?
Newer versions of Internet Explorer do not come with Java installed. One option is to go tohttp://java.sun.com/getjava/ or call the Help Desk at 1.877.826.5010.
I get a "Server error: Sign on failed" when trying to sign on to OJIN.
One possible cause for this error message is that the user profile you are attempting to signon with is already signed on to OJIN.
When I try to print, I get an error message that reads: "The original browser page must be visible to get files".
You must leave the web browser at the address of the county's website where you sign on to. If you need to navigate to other websites, then open another web browser window.
How do I print case information from OJIN?
Printing OJIN cases to the local printer within OJIN is a two step process:
actual download of the case to the local computer
printing the case to the local printer
To print the case you are viewing, type PCAS in the command entry line. If you choose to make any changes to the printer settings, press [F4] to access the Options window, make the necessary changes, and press [Enter]. If no changes are made, press [Enter] to begin the download process.
Note: Each time you print a case from OJIN, OJIN places the file in a temporary directory on your computer and assigns it a temporary name. The next time the user name signs on, a second pop-up window appears. This window will show you all previous print jobs which can be retrieved or deleted. This may be useful to you if you wish to print the case again. If you do not retrieve or delete the print jobs, you can close the pop-up window. It will appear again at the next sign-on.
- The HOST PRINT function allows you to print a single page.
To print a single page in OJIN, simply right click on the page and choose "host print". Then the process continues, as with the PCAS command.
Whether you choose to print a page or a whole case, the program will then exit the case and return to the list of names from which you originally selected the case. A Microsoft window will be displayed within 5-20 seconds asking you to either "Open from Current Location" or "Download". Selecting "Open from Current Location" is usually the best choice. It downloads the file to your computer and places it in the associated helper application. Some computers are set up automatically to "Open from Current Location", so the window will not appear. When the helper application window (such as: Word, WordPad, WordPerfect) shows the requested case, you can use the normal print commands for that program to print the case to your printer.
Problems encountered during this process are most likely caused by your computer's .RTF file association. For assistance in correcting this or other problems, contact the OJIN OnLine Help Desk. If emailing, please be sure to include your user name (profile), telephone number, email address and company or agency name.
After I enter the PCAS command and press ENTER, nothing happens. Why is this?
If a "Pop-up Blocker" is installed and active, you will need to disable the Pop-up Blocker. If you use Internet Explorer, to disable the blocker for a specific OJIN site, go to Tools, Pop-up Blocker, Pop-up Blocker Settings, and type the Server IP Address in the Allowed Sites. Now you can go into an OJIN case, type PCAS and hit <Enter>.
As soon as the enter key is pressed, hold down the <Ctrl> key and keep it down. A small box will appear that says “Always ask before opening this file?”, uncheck the checkbox so the checkmark does not appear.
Once the above has been performed, printing a case in OJIN will work by simply typing the PCAS command in the OJIN Command line.
Note: Server IP Address = 159.121.96.### needs to be entered in your “Allowed Sites Address” settings. The last three digits of the Server IP Address (###) are related to your counties sign in. See below for your Counties IP Address to add in your allowed site settings:
