The Legal Counsel Division provides legal advice and services to state courts, judges, the Office of the State Court Administrator, and state court employees relating to courts and court administration. Services include:
- legal advice, research, and analysis on legal issues involving court administration
- litigation and tort claim management and coordination
- negotiation, review, and development of legal contract terms for state court system contracts
- circuit court civil fee schedule
- policy development and analysis for the state court system
- legislative analysis and implementation
- judge and employee education on legal topics
