SFLAC Family Law Conference

Under ORS 3.438(4), to the extent that adequate funds are available from the Family Law Account, the State Court Administrator plans and implements an annual statewide conference to:

  • Review legislation relating to family law issues
  • Provide family law training
  • Review elements of successful family law programs
  • Foster the development of enhanced services to families involved in proceedings before the court.

The SFLAC Conference Planning Subcommittee, consisting of Chair Hon. Paula Brownhill, Clatsop Co. Circuit Court Judge, and Linda Scher, Family Mediator, Portland, assists the State Court Administrator in developing, organizing and implementing the Family Law Conference. The committee helps develop the conference theme, recommends and contacts national and local speakers, selects a date and location for the conference, reviews and selects workshop proposals and attends to various other conference details as needed.
